Had a great conversation with Cristina Weyl today about Atelier 17 , Gail Singer, Krishna Reddy, Eric Schmid, Hector Ssunier, Juan, Madame Paulette, Bruce Dunnet, Pauline Binns, Akemi Noguchi, both New York and all the women that etched there, Paris, Joelle Serve and her Atelier 63 on the Rue Daguerre, and the old man I remember on the street that would always announce : “ Beeeeeel Highterrerrr, le pluuuuuuuus graahhhhhhdddd graveur du monde!”
so much winderfulness as I take picture now slmost fifty years later of my etchings I did in Paris , France!
I started etching with Calvert Brun a traditional French etcher, then will Bill Hayter at his Atelier 17, then meeting Joelle Serve a French lady that had etched at the Atelier 17 at 10 Rue Didot, before opening her own etching Atelier on the Rue Daguerre, also in the 14th arrondisement where I became her twaching assistant working for her when she was not there.
Great times and I look firward to continuing my conversations with Caroline as she plans the hundred ywar anniversay of Atrlier 17!
Wow! Anthony Alan Quinn happy Monday Janyary 13, 2026 now
